To be more specific, which of these isn't being handled properly/ with enough respect by Sega? Which one do you really care about the most?

I personally think Greendog: The Beached Surfer Dude! should have at least been on a hundred different Genesis collections. I was going to add Matt Rorie's Alpha Protocol but apparently Sega WILL NOT publish any sequels.

Also ignoring licensed stuff like Aliens. None of the Atlus stuff.

Valkyria Chronicles is definitely something they need to bring back stateside and perhaps even put something in development for the next generation. I know the sequels didn't fare so well in Japan, but I still feel like we should've seen them all stateside, as well. I've been itching for a new Valkyria Chronicles for forever.

I'm not sure how you could bring modernize it, but I would love to see a return to Streets of Rage. I don't want some full on $60 game, but rather a new Streets of Rage for $10 to download would be a blast.

I am convinced that the people suggesting we need more Burning Rangers have never actually played the original. That game was TERRIBLE and remains the only Saturn game I regret paying money for.

@babychoochoo: Even Sonic is being misused, they had a fantastic engine for making 2D and 3D Sonic games and they threw it in the trash in favour of a bad co-op game.

I don't think it can be said that Sonic is 'neglected' though. More like 'abused'.

It's hard to decide between a lot of those options what goes the most ignored by Sega, which kinda says a lot in itself. I'm just going to say Skies of Arcadia, because fuck.

I'm going to say Sonic mainly because they haven't done much good with him in years. I think they had maybe a couple good games in there somewhere, but the majority out-ways the good ones. I would love to see and play a good sonic game again. It's been a while.

@71ranchero: Nope, it's awesome. Played it for the first time last year. It obviously has some problems that could be remedied with a second stick. It has some really cool ideas that no other games have done like the backdraft dodging that requires you to listen to your surroundings and the navigator map lady. It also looks really cool, fantastic character designs.

This poll is depressing, just looking at that list, so many great franchises that Sega has done shit for.

I voted for Streets of Rage. It's one of the most beloved franchises during the 16-bit era (which is saying a lot). Besides re-releasing them over and over they have done nothing. They even shut down a fan made project upon its completion. That is pretty neglectful that they can't be bothered to pay attention until the project is completed.

At this point though they would probably fuck it up so maybe it is a good thing they don't.

    Who voted Puyo-Puyo?

Me and some friends played Puyo-Puyo 2 obsessively for years. To the point where we were really ridiculously good at it. The skill-cap in that game is amazingly high. It's an underrated masterpiece of competitive puzzle gaming. They eventually ruined it by making too many sequels and adding a bunch of unnecessary mechanics.

That's not quite true. Shogun 2 was fantastic, but Empire and Napoleon were steps back from the Shogun 1- Medieval 2 set of games that were of consistent quality.

You missed Floigan Bros, dude. And thank you for doing so.

Of the ones listed, a new Jet Set Radio could be incredible if they improved the control from the older games.

The Killer Instinct revival makes me think an Eternal Champions comeback could be interesting if done by the right people. Make it different by incorporating background interaction far more than any other fighting game (a reference to the old insta-kills).

Someone could probably come up with a cool idea for a new Toejam & Earl.

The idea of a Seaman game that uses Kinect is haunting and pretty awesome.

This thread popped up. I came to vote. I saw about fifteen franchises that I miss. I got sad.

Man, Sega has made some incredible games. It'd be great if they sold some of those IP's off to developers that could do something special with them.

This is the biggest poll I've ever seen!

I'd like a new Ecco, but then again, after that Kickstarter monstrosity it's probably best that the series remain dormant. I always thought the storyline of the first two games was engaging and unique.

this poll is so massive and depressing but theres still more I can think of that annoy me.

Dragon Force was a fantastic IP that I think would do really well these days, it got a nice remake on PS2 and is on PS3 via psn, given that it was already translated its a real shame it never got an honest chance

Also, SEGA own the Thunderforce IP but after a single japan only release they left this legendary series to rot. Such a shame, I think it'd thrive as a digital release

While I didn't personally like it as much as the old Sonic games, there was nothing actually wrong with Ristar, and in a world where Kirby games are still going strong I don't know why the hell Ristar isn't right there too.

Wasn't aware they owned that name. With that knowledge, it is safe to say that Thunder Force is the correct answer for this.

Definitely gotta say Alex Kidd. Never minding that he hasn't had a game of his own since Alex Kidd in Shinobi World, but I honestly think they'd be in a lot less flak with fans if they'd made Sonic Boom into an Alex Kidd game. Honestly though, Sonic Boom pretty much shows just how desperate Sega is to keep from using other franchises. Even games that are completely not Sonic, they shoe-horn Sonic in.

To think a company that used to be so great is now just a poor man's EA...

I voted Shenmue, since we never had a chance to finish that story. But if you asked what game I most want to see them make in an existing franchise, it's Valkyria Chronicles or Skies of Arcadia on PS4 and/or Xbox One (and I wouldn't say no to a PC release).

I'd like to see them turn around the PSO/Phantasy Star franchise as well. The existing PSO formula needs something new.

The original Phantasy Star games (1-4) and Shining Force 1,2, CD, and part 1 of 3 (never got the other two parts in the USA) are still some of the best games I've played. It saddens me greatly that there will never be a real Phantasy Star sequel. I really loved PSO and the online series is nice, but it isn't anywhere as badass as PS4 was (and is). Shining Force was my first real SRPG and started a love with that genre as well and it is a bummer that there is pretty much 0 chance Sega will ever do anything of merit with the franchise again.

Honorable mention to Panzer Dragoon Saga also which was amazing and will probably never be seen by a large majority of gamers unless they want to emulate it or pay serious money for a copy.
