@FluxWaveZ: Umm....nowhere in that text does it say the show will be dubbed. Seeing how it will be shown through digital channels at least for its first year, this may very well be a sub only deal. It's not explicitly stated, but it's assumed because they've licensed it.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4
Game » consists of 5 releases. Released Jul 10, 2008
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 is a role-playing game developed and published by Atlus for the PlayStation 2. It is chronologically the fifth installment in the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series. Like its predecessor, its gameplay combines a traditional role-playing game with elements of a social simulation. Its critical and commercial success spawned a sizable media empire, including several spinoff titles.
Persona 4 Anime will be dubbed
I wouldn't be so sure about that. Anime gets licensed and released in the US all the time without a dub, and doing a quick google search reveals Sentai Works is actually quite notorious for doing just that.@mutha3 said:

I'm still expecting a dub as this is a pretty important license to hold, but there are some uncertainties.
As much as I hate anime dubs I would totally watch the series in English if they get all the voice actors back.

the question going around the internet is whether the sub groups are going to go super literal with teddie and just go with -kuma tics (the wrong option) or make bear puns all the time (the correct option)
Also the Junes song. I was so confused when I heard the Japanese version of it in one of the trailers.

Sentai dubs everything don't they? Not necessarily well, but they seem to. Really more important to see who is handling the recording, everyone of the P4 cast is now in LA I believe while Sentai still does the cheaper Texas route.

The Bebop dub was nothing special, and the shitty writing killed the English version. I know they have to change the lines to match the mouth flaps, but it was just bad. The Ghost in the Shell dubs are terrific, though.
the flcl dub was nearly perfect imo
No! In fact they have a reputation for putting out sub only stuff.Sentai dubs everything don't they?
Whiskey Media's own Anime Vice had this to say:
For whatever reason, I just imagine that the Sentai Filmworks' production offices look like the rebel hideout. With their fast, sub-only releases of many series, it often feels like they are smuggling the shows out of Japan. Of course, we profit, since several of them probably weren't big enough for a dub (Special A) or are just too much of a nightmare to localize (Maria+Holic). Not only have they put out some of my favorite releases this last year, but their announcements are usually on shelf's with a month or two, keeping my ADD at an all time high.
I've also seen a lot of snippets of forum conversation where people refer to Sentai as having that kind of reputation.
Holy hell no.@1337W422102 said:

I assume that Sentai is aware that the series is popular and would be willing to spend money on getting this dub. Also their been increase dubs in some of their popular title they got so high chances in that they will, just that they need to get the original cast.
@mutha3: Lots of what they've put out recently has been dubbed, but if you check the cast lists you'll recognize almost no one. It looks like they announced the P4 license without saying what they are doing though, everything else looks like they announced how they handle the material. Which may mean they are trying to find a way to get the original cast. I wouldn't hold my breath.
If you just want to demand them to dub the show and get the original cast send them an email: http://www.sentai-filmworks.com/index.php?option=com_contact&view=contact&id=1&Itemid=84
This is good. Unless they don't include the original voice actors. At which point I might as well watch a sub, for as much as that smacks of elitism.
@FluxWaveZ: You can add 'The Girl Who Leapt Through Time' to that list too.
...and where is the mention of the subs? Unless I missed something glaringly obvious.

And everyone will still watch the fansubs.
Well, time is of the essence. I think the turn-around of getting the episodes out and subbed will be the factor, but this is the internet we're talking about and patience is rarely a virtue.
I would like to think I won't go this route, but yeah, probably!

I watch a lot of fansubs and they're usually up within a day of being aired in Japan!

Well it looks like they will putting it up on simulcast sites like Anime Network and Crunchyroll.

But if they're simulcasting as @metalsnakezero: says, there's no way it'll be dubbed at all.
Thats not true. They still can dub the show but that'll be after the series finishes. Than they are given the ok to do whatever they want.
Are they going to invest that effort when its been online for half a year in sub form, the VA are all located miles upon miles away and pretty well-respected to boot? Especially given their reputation for doing this kind of stuff before?@mutha3 said:

Lots of animes now are getting simulcasting and most get dubs for DVD/Blu-ray releases so it is a strong possibility. Also I'm pretty sure that they are aware that Persona 4 is popular for its English cast and would be willing to go and get that cast. Just because it is online doesn't mean it wont get a chance to be release on DVD/Blu-ray which it is confirm to be release in 2012. Also having it dub makes it more valuable when it can only be found on DVD/Blu-ray and not put it up online till after it is in stores.
I'm gonna wait to see how they do the game justice when the anime is released next week before I have my opinion no it. I know one of my peeves is that the main character/Protags name isn't Shoji its Yu but thats a detail I can look over.
If they get the VA from the game does that mean we´ll get to hear Johnny Yong Bosch screaming Persona! and saying very creepy stuff as another character later?, regarless of who is gonna do the dub Im still very exited for this but I would definetively be more if th VA from the game return for this and the protagonist won´t be silent thats crazy!.

Yes those and Dragon Ball Z are perfect examples of how english dubs should be done. Those and Dragon Ball Z I refuse to watch in japanese because of how good the english dubs are.
