Vinny's video is really stuttery.

Oh man, they didn't use the in-game proximity chat and radio system. That's a bummer. This game loses a lot when you don't use the in-game voice chat system.

I believe the voice detection is only in game proximity comms, not including the radio.

Also, the torch can be put on your belt so you don't have to hold it.

Is the game this stuttery or is it the video?

Bad video stuttering and not using the game's communication system (which is a huge part) really makes me not interested in watching the whole thing. It's a shame. This is one of my favorite games to watch with two of my favorite personalities on this site.

It's gotta be the video or Vinny would have mentioned it.

This game is early access and needs to add more explanations of how it's basic mechanics work. So the Spirit Box isn't working because they're using the game's radio, but the game uses the proximity-based voice system to let it know where you are in the house in relation to the ghost's hidden position, which is push-to-talk by default (if you're playing with friends turn that off so it's on all the time and deafen your discord call, it's way more fun when you hear your friend's muffled screams in the next room and when the ghost attacks your radios stop working meaning you have to raise your voice to be heard and call for help).

A lot of the game's mechanics need you to use the in-game voice. When the Spirit Box works you hear the ghost's voice saying a word. The in-game radio comms attract the ghost.

I don't watch any of those ghost hunting shows on TV. Is it typical to try to anger the ghost when you're just walking around without any equipment set up?

@admiralburrito: That should only be happening if you're on the YouTube player. If you click the "..." at the bottom of the video, you should see an option to switch to the GB Player (which will actually play the video).

I’m about halfway through the video... I feel like this is such a missed opportunity to do something really great. If you guys had a full 4 person team and knew the game better; It’s frustrating to see you guys struggle to figure things out live.

@fontelroy: The game needs a much better tutorial on the sound system and controls, it's fun to figure out the actual mechanics beyond that but this game being early access makes the first hour or so of the game really hard to break into

I just want to add to the voices saying a 4 person playdate of this would be extremely fun. Maybe add Jan for his ghost hunting background and Jeff for a true wild card?

This game rules. Have sank almost two dozen hours but the hunts always feels fresh. I know there is a lot of things left to be said but the biggest thing I want to drop is if you press 'T', you can have your flashlight on at all times even if you aren't holding it in your hand, so long as it's in your inventory.

Also, yeah, 7* Celsius is not freezing xD.

saying the name of the ghost will provoke it. you dont want to do that until youve exhausted all other options for evidence gathering or you are trying to meet optional objectives like prevent a hunt with the crucifix. asking for a sign is a much better way to get evidence without angering it too much. also lurking around in the dark is bad for sanity, and the lower your sanity the greater chance the ghost will hunt you.

speaking of which, when your flashlight starts flicking on and off uncontrollably, you are being hunted. you need to hide in a room that is not the haunted ground zero, not say anything, turn off your light and look at the ground. that will give you the best chance of not being found and murdered.

the most efficient way to sweep a location is to start with thermometer, emf reader and flashlight. go from room to room asking for signs while checking temps and emf readings. if you notice a substantial temp drop or the emf goes to 2+, then youve found your room. at that point start brining in the other equipment to gather the rest of your evidence.

game is a bit obtuse but its a blast to play even with strangers. i hope we get at least one more video preferably with a full 4 person crew to bust them ghosts

You can use the flashlight while holding a different item by pressing T on keyboard (not sure what that is on gamepad) as long as you have a flashlight in your inventory. I don't think the game EVER tells you that, I had to read that elsewhere but it's such an important tip.

I added this game to my wishlist cause this actually seems pretty cool and immersive. I wanna roleplay as dumb tv ghost hunters with my friends.

And like everyone else, I'd LOVE to see this as a Playdate with a couple West Coasters added to the mix - Jan and Ben seem like a particularly good fit for this, but really, ANY combination of 4 GBers playing this would probably be a blast.
