    Description of the term

There are many situations in video games in which seemingly unrelated events are revealed as part of a master plan or a source of conflict. For example, each of the CSI games feature multiple cases in which groundwork is laid in each case, leading up to the finale. The Phoenix Wright games also use this to their advantage.

    Other Examples

    • After a horrific crime, such as a serial murder case, copycats often arise. This is why news companies take careful steps in delivering such news.
