Short game means short review.The Oregon Trail starts you off by selecting you and your partners names, also the wagon party name. After you typed in your names the next part is choosing which career you had, from being a Banker to a Saddlemaker. Each career has a helpful trait, or none at all. As example a Banker would start with riches and the Saddlemaker could repair wheel axles and all that on your journey. Then you buy your items you need for your trail such as clothes for trading or bullet...

Back in the lawless days of pioneers, wild buffalo, and the Apple II known as the 1980s, you could play a game with the first two things on the last. Usually at school of all places. The Minnesota Educational Computing Consortium (MECC) used to publish games in this era that combined teaching subjects like math and history with surprisingly decent gameplay. A Great Game, but Supplanted by its Spiritual Successors 0
Oregon Trail holds a special place in the memories of most Millennials as the first PC game they ever played. Rather than learning about American pioneer life on those countless journeys between Missouri and the Pacific Northwest, my peers were quietly snickering when friends and loved ones dropped dead of cholera or dysentery on the trail.
