Zelter is a pixelated single-player crafting survival game for PC played in the third-person view. The player’s goal is to build and upgrade a base (shelter) and defend it against hordes of zombies.
One of the game’s features is craft and resource management. At the beginning of the game, players will need to break rocks against each other in order to craft a hatchet, but with time they will unlock an intricate crafting system that caters for all basic needs, providing them with food, safety, and offensive power.
In Zelter the players will meet NPC survivors. If players help them, and take them to the base, they will gladly help upgrade it. The NPCs can be directed to craft supplies, guard important positions, accompany players on scavenger hunts, and help build a fortress, ready to stand against the inevitable zombie attacks.
While a zombie apocalypse game, Zelter is still upbeat and colourful. Though the game seems to be in a 2D environment, it actually was created in 3D, as the developers felt that this would allow them to create more sophisticated physical effects, whilst still retaining the retro feel.
The game will be released in Early Access on October 22nd.
