    Overview

You Must Build A Boat is a block-matching game developed and published by EightyEight Games for Android, iPhone, iPad, Linux, Mac, and PC.

    Gameplay

You Must Build A Boat is a match three puzzle game with a hub world where permanent upgrades can be purchased. The player matches tiles that fall into four general buckets: offensive, defensive, utility, and currency. At the top of the screen the player can see which type of tile is needed currently to progress. Between runs the player returns to their boat where NPCs sell upgrades that change the properties of the game board, or the power of the tiles. The player can also accept quests to attempt on the next run.
