    Hi everyone.

Trying to remember this arcade game from the early 90s. Here are the hints:

    · it's a side scroller beat em up high fantasy game

    · it's not Dungeons and Dragons

    · it's not Golden Axe

    · it's not on a home console like the SNES or TG16 (so it's not Cadash, or that rare SNES game)

    · it might be a Capcom game

    · you could play as different character classes. I think you had to rescue characters for them to join you

    · I think one of the playable characters was a lizard man

    · I think one of the bosses was Manticore

    Any help?

    Knights of the Round?

    No Caption Provided

    That was on SNES, though.

Actually, more likely to be Willow, from your description. I feel like you'd remember that, though.

This doesn't precisely fit your description because it had a SNES version (I think) but are you sure you're not talking about Magic Sword? I know it's also a pretty famous game, but it features the freeing characters for them to join you mechanic, a lizardman who joins you, and a boss who is a chimera (which might be mistaken in a memory for a manticore.)

Magic Sword is also a Capcom game.

Magic Sword got a console release, but I'm PRETTY SURE that's the one you are thinking of.

Willow was a side scroller fantasy action game in the arcades by Capcom that never was released for anything else. It's not the NES game at all.

EDIT: Oops missed the other post. Might be Black Tiger, but that came out in 1987.

Nother edit: Ok Magic Sword had lizardman playable char, probably it, but it's had a few releases including snes.

Hey guys, thanks it was indeed Magic Sword. Did that get an SNES release?

PS Willow arcade is a fantastic game.
