Famed Konami franchise comes to the XBOX 360 with a brand new adventure featuring Raiden.
Raiden will be the main character in "Rising".Earlier today at Microsoft's press conference Konami's Hideo Kojima briefly appeared to announce a new Metal Gear game that will get released on the X360. The game, titled Metal Gear Solid: Rising, will feature Raiden as the main protagonist instead of Solid Snake and will be an entirely new adventure. The game was not formally announced as an X360 "exclusive" so there is potentially some chance that the game might hit the PS3 as well but that is just pure speculation. Details at the moment are thin, with only a quick teaser trailer being shown for the game. Here's the full press release:

Raiden, one of the most popular characters in the Metal Gear Solid universe, will star in the all-new title from Hideo Kojima. Raiden first debuted in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system as a playable character and appeared as a non-playable cyborg in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.

How though? That interview discussed Big Boss at points I believe. I can't wait to see more as I am a Raiden fan. But I also believe the PS3 is getting a seperate Metal Gear game featuring Big Boss.
At first I was disappointed because I wanted kojima to be working on a new IP, but in a way this might be the same thing, because I imagine the gameplay will be radically different then the other MGSs because new raiden never seemed to be the sneaking type. So i will hold my hype or disappointment till we get some gameplay info or trailers.
THis is cool but i wanted MGS 4 to come out. i was holding off getting the ps3 version now i will have to buy it.....fucking wanted ahcivements to. BAAAAAAAAH
It's just that I wanted MGS 4 so bad, anything else wouldn't have been good enough. And also, when has a MGS spin-off ever been anything more than "okay". Acid and Portable Ops were cool an' all, but they don't bear comparison with their grown-up siblings. Maybe Rising will be good, I don't know. But it's not the game I wanted.
IF it was exclusive to the 360 don't you think they would've mentioned it...over and over again. It's multiplatform as it was in the PS3+PSP version of famitsu
of all the people you could give the 360 out of the Metal Gear universe, you make a game for fucking raiden?! that dushe bag?! talk about giving a dog a bone, when the dog wanted a fucking steak. give me a break!
I really hope that this is Raiden's adventures around the world where he becomes the badass ninja that he was in MGS4, which he mentioned, and not a sequel to MGS4, because a sequel would suck. My guess is the game will play a lot like Zone of the Enders, only with Ninjas and not giant robots with erections for cockpits.
@NinjaHunter: True, they do kick ass; but he was back to being regular whiney Raiden by the end... either way I'm all for more Metal Gear, just hope they manage to get David Hayter in it somehow.
