I'm a huge fan of the Pokémon franchise. I played the original Red/Blue release when it came out in America in '98--back when I was in grade school--and haven't missed the release of a main series game since. I even love some of the offshoots, like Pokémon Snap, Pokémon Trading Card Game, and Pokémon Pinball. To give you context, I went and purchased Pokémon HeartGold the day it came out. I still don't have a copy of Red Dead Redemption. Clearly, I am doing this whole video game thing all the way wrong.
Suffice to say, I'm pretty stoked Nintendo has announced that Pokémon Black/White will be released in North America next spring on the DS(and not the 3DS). The first all-new Pokémon RPG since Diamond/Pearl came out in 2007, Pokémon Black/White seems like it will make bolder use of the series' polygonal graphics to render larger environments in new perspectives. So that's cool. I bet you still fight gym leaders though...and meet a professor what got a tree name...and learn how to surf...and do the exact same thing we've done in every single Pokémon RPG since 1996.
Nintendo also revealed each game's exclusive "Legendary" Pokémon that will be on the front of the box. Check 'em!
Pokémon fans, you know the drill; the version of the game you want to purchase is one with the cooler Pokémon on the front of the box. I'll be getting the White version, 'cause look at that guy.
What version will you be getting when the game comes out on the DS next spring?
