Superstars V8 Owners Will Get A Shot At Winning Gran Turismo 5

Owners of PSN racing game Superstars V8 Racing will soon be able to enter into an unusual contest to win copies of Polypony Digital's Gran Turismo 5. Starting on November 12, V8 Racing creator O-Games will begin posting a week-long series of in-game challenges for the racer via its Facebook page. Users who are able to fulfill the requirements of said challenges will be given a chance to win a copy of Gran Turismo 5 "whenever it ships." 
 
"Superstars V8 Racing is the perfect game for racing fans to sharpen their skills as they wait for Gran Turismo 5," O-Games GM Greg Lanz said in a statement, "and what better way than to reward fans with a brand new copy of the game. Exactly when we can ship GT5 is anybody’s guess, but rest assured, we will send out prizes whenever it hits retail shelves."

Well I'm about 85% sure Gran Turismo 5 will ship this month. So a $20 racing game (that can tie me over till the release of GT5) just for a chance to win a $60 game? Sounds like a good deal.

God has this been delayed again, please! At this point its more entertaining than I would ever find the game.

I was given this game for review. It's a stripped down racing sim with no real hooks except the license of an Italian racing league. There's only like 9 cars in the game, and you adjust their parameters with sliders. It's not bad if you need a racing sim while waiting for GT5, and the online competition doesn't seem too fierce. What the point of this contest is besides getting this quiet release some headlines, I have no idea. But winning a game by playing another, cheaper game isn't the worst thing in the world.

That would be a nice christmas suprise in 2018.

What a great way to highlight GT5's vaporware status...

Clicked the story and was disappointed, the world could do with more tomato juice-themed racing games.

They might also win copies of GT6-7105 all in development & coming soon I'm guessing.
