Pictures surface of the turntables for Activision's upcoming DJ game.
What's up with the cropped pictures provided?Activision has no less then three music related games coming out this fall. Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero and the oft-rumored, now official DJ Hero are all due out sometime before Christmas. DJ Hero, one of the games at the heart of a legal battle with 7 Studios, finally had some pictures released of what the controllor will look like. Obviously, these are renderings and not the actual product so it's tough to say what the build quality of these will be but I'm already surprised that the table has buttons on the top instead of the side. I imagined that the game would mimic the left and right analog sticks by spinning the record left or right. No dimenisons came with these pics so we also don't know how big these things are or even if you can link two of them together. What do you guys think? Will this be fun?
This game is going to have Motown, electronica and dance in it. For someone like me, as an avid hater of the type of music that gets put in Guitar Hero and Rock Band, this is everything I could ever want. Ever.
I don't get it. At least 50% of turntablism is fader use. Not where on the record you're touching. It literally makes no sense to me as someone who has actually done a bit of it. If this game doesn't effectively require some form of two-handed fader/rotation play, they might as well just map shit to sticks and call it a day.

I really hope the DJ Hero turntable is way better and way less whack than that.
Also, I'm tired of Activision announcing a new Guitar Hero every, like, 3 months. They need to do what Harmonix is doing and stick more to the DLC. Yes, Guitar Hero DOES have DLC. So why don't they use that as opposed to making a whole new game?
I'm actually looking forward to playing this game. I hope the turntables are portable. Maybe we will learn more and actually see the controller itself at E3.
what would you mix? Is this a game for the Hardcore House scene? Is this a game for the Ravers? What are the songs? Is it all Hip-Hop? IDK, looks pretty lame to me, especially since I could buy a turntable and mixer and just learn for realz yo!
That's it...? Just a static turntable with 3 buttons? Could this possibly be any worse? At least make the three buttons touch pads so you can feel like you're somewhat scratching! -_-
this is where rythm games get a bad name, activision is getting greedy, and I just hope harmonix doesn't try to follow down this road of horrible rythm games with needless expensive peripherals I mean honestly do you really want 2 guitars, a drum set, a microphone and a turntable to deal with?!?!?!
Press a button and thne scratch it like strumming? If this is just going to be button presses its gunna be lame. Hell, if this does everything right it'll be lame.
My interest in DJ Hero was about zero, but seeing these pictures actually gets me a little curious. I would now like to know more. Tentatively optimistic?
That looks pretty lame, if you ask me... also, with multiple plastic guitars and sets of drums cluttering my house, i think i´m done buying expansive plastic peripherals. Still a mic stand would be nice...
