The Beatles: Rock Band Set For September 9

Date, price points, platforms, that sort of thing. But I'm holding out for a Dreamcast version.

MTV Games popped out a quick bit of info about the newly-named "The Beatles: Rock Band" this morning. The game will have a simultaneous release on September 9 in North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and "other territories" on 360, PS3, and Wii.

Only US-based pricing is available for the three different retail boxes that will hit. The game-only pack is listing at $59.99, which is fine and good for you 360/PS3 cats. But the release claims that the Wii version will also go for that price, which is ten bones more than you're used to paying for retail Wii products. There will be a "Standalone Guitars" pack that will run $99.99 across all three platforms, and a "Limited Edition Premium Bundle" for $249.99.

While the game will be compatible with most, if not all of your existing music-game hardware, there will be new Beatles-branded hardware available in limited numbers, letting you use instruments modeled after the stuff those guys in that band used when they recorded all those songs before you were born. Well... before I was born, anyway.

There's also a new official site for the game up, but it doesn't offer more than a long line of corporate logos and the release date.
