Three More Syndicate Trademarks Appear

At some point, someone might have to actually announce this game.

Rumors of Starbreeze Studios' involvement with a new Syndicate title for EA have been swirling since I ruptured my mother's womb (you had to have been there). It is within that context that I inform you of even more evidence for the existence of such a game. Super Annuation has caught three new filings for a new Syndicate--trademarks, to be exact, two of which mention some sort of computer games or entertainment mention.

In April, Starbreeze trademarked Syndicate several times with the US Copyright Office, mentioning a financial institution for backing and an EA "license agreement," which suggested two things: EA sold the IP to Starbreeze, or handed over the license to Starbreeze to publish a new game. The latter seems to be the correct assumption.

In March 2009, GI.biz confirmed via an anonymous source that Starbreeze was indeed building a Syndicate game under the codename "Project Redlime." Intended to release for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, work wasn't to be finished until Starbreeze pushed out a game based on the Bourne series. That project has been toast for a bit, so it's possible more resources have been devoted to this project. Maybe it's even finally due for an announcement.

So, what is Syndicate, you might ask? It's a dystopian sci-fi series created by visionary Peter Molyneux's Bullfrog Productions in 1993. It had you, as a team of four people, assassinating dudes, kidnapping people, and otherwise brutalizing folks all in the name of global domination.
