You know, it's not surprising that most game publishers knew to stay the hell out of the way of the only video game franchise that is a national sport, but frankly, I can't even imagine a hypothetical game that we'd be playing instead of StarCraft II for this week's Thursday Night Throwdown.
Halo 7? OK, we'd probably play some Halo 7. But that's not a real game, so guess what?
StarCraft II. That's what.
We were there when the Battle.net servers went live some sixty-odd hours ago, and we're gonna do it again, tonight, between 4PM and 6PM Pacific Daylight Time. If you want a chance to play some StarCraft II with Giant Bomb's own Brad Shoemaker--who is, as I write this, wrapping up a two-day StarCraft II bender by playing some StarCraft II so that his mouse hand is all limbered up for even more StarCraft II--here's what you do:
- Post your StarCraft II character name and character number (both of which you can find on the "add friend" screen within the game) in the comments section below.
- Have StarCraft II loaded up between 4PM and 6PM Pacific Daylight Time, tonight.
- Keep your eyes open for a match invite from character name "rudds." That's our Bradley!
- That's it! No fourth step! It's just that easy!
We'll be playing one-on-one and four-on-four matches and everything in between, so be ready for anything! Oh, and did I mention that we'll be giving away two copies of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty during the broadcast? Because we totally will.
