I like the idea of a spinoff thing, and I loved all the pirates portions. Pirates can go where ever they want: London, Brazil, etc. And then there's the treasure.

That art style doesn't look like something Ubisoft would use to promote Assassin's Creed. Also they've been saying they're not going back to the same time period and characters of ACIII.

I was hoping this would be an Assassin's Creed game set in the 80s punk scene.

I feel like that art style is fitting for a pirate adventure, so maybe.

The typography looks pretty unsophisticated. That probably isn't the work of a well-payed marketing firm. The kerning between the F and the L in "FLAG" is awful. Also, the way that "Black Flag" is set, with the "B" and the "G" being larger, that seems sloppy and poorly thought out.

Of course bad typography happens all the time in every industry, so who knows? But my impression is "fake."

EDIT: I'm almost certainly wrong. I shouldn't confuse "I hate that poster" with "that poster is bullshit."

This could be official for sure but that poster wouldn't be for the game. I could see it in a comics shop window though. If it is official I'd put money on this being a poster for the Graphic novel adpatation, or a proof for the cover of the Gamestop pre-order comic.

Either way, I would totally play Pirates Creed.

Looks like they realized that numbering your sequels makes it look a lot less like a cheap cash-grab (despite the fact that it's clearly a cheap cash-grab).

@peasantabuse: I think its an Expensive, cash grab. A new IP is the stupidest thing Ubisoft can do. Although, Watch_Dogs is kinda like this, yo its Asssassin's but now. And its GTA.

At this point no pitch or dreamy promise/cool poster can win me over.

WE DEMAND NEW GAMEPLAY, nothing else should appease us. New gameplay, new AI, new mechanics, less cutscene, and an actual creed for me as an assassinwho's job is to assassinate not craft wooden barrels.

? I just thought: I imagine a part where you get blond hair, and you land on a island, you see the coconuts, chase the monkey through the jungle, and it finally ends with you finding the secret t-shirt. And, you have to sign your name.

It is the one issue that I have with the leak, it makes sense otherwise. But it looks so comic book-y. Which makes some sense since they have done comic books I believe but this is supposed to be the real art I suppose.

After the way AC3 ended I'm done with the series. It's just tedious now.

I think Kojima thought too greatly of the AC series when he put the Altair costume in MGS4. Because apart from a little stealth in the first game, I have never seen any significant stealth segments in any of the other games. I only played 1 and 2 however.

God I hope this is fake or something else entirely. That's it. After III, Ubisoft take a break. Come back to the drawing board in like two years. Leave it alone for now. It's starting to get to the point where this series will need to taken out back and shot. And then of course comes the reboot.

I bet I would play an "Assassin's Creed, but with Pirates" game. Of course, that's what I said when I was given the promise of tomahawking readcoats, and the negative reception to that game kinda drove me away.

After AC3 ive lost interest in the series. The last quarter of the year is going to hectic, so ill save my money for something else.
