Has anyone else experienced some notable frame-rate drops in major cities (ex. Boston) when running around? (on the PS3 version at least). It is getting to the point where the game is more frustrating to play more than anything and I'm feeling like I've wasted my 60$.

Yup, that's the reason I've only played 2 hours in this whole week...

The PS3 version of the AC games tend to have the most technical hiccups, so I get them on 360 despite the extra PS3 content.

I think the framerate drops are just there regardless of platform. It's a rough version on PS3 and 360.

Considering the amount of objects and people the game has to render; I think you need to say thanks the game runs on consoles at all.

Yeah the frame rate is really bad. I'm starting to regret that I didn't have patience to wait for the PC version, because it's almost unplayable in the cities.

I'd personally trade complex graphics for smoother game-play. Honestly a dishonored style of textures would work perfectly fine.

It has been rough at times, but still better than AC:Rev.

The general consensus seems to be that the PS3 version is choppy. That's why I'm holding out for the PC version when I eventually get the game.

I haven't noticed significant drops in frame rate other than a few cutscenes. I've gotten used to playing on less than optimal FPS in the previous Assassin's Creed games anyway so I don't mind it.

Technical errors are are admittedly worse on the PS3, but the 360 version have their fair share of issues as well (my personal favorite was when a deer got stuck in a tree). Realistically technical issues of this kind are going to be par for the course in any open world game as the amount of variations that can happen are far too high in number to be without some hiccups.

I haven't noticed anything. Maybe I just can't "see it" like everyone else, apparently. But I'm not having any trouble running around Boston at all.
