I really hated all the bunny hopping and dolphin diving in Battlefield 2. It just made the otherwise realistic looking war game feel ridiculously stupid. Since B3 features both jumping and going prone do you encounter lots of people who abuse these techniques?

You can't shoot when you go from standing to prone for like a second. People that try it, die.

Your shooting will cease for a split second when you perform a dive from a standing position. Also, getting from prone to standing puts you stationary while your soldier does the animation. They seem to really love to prioritize the transition animations over movement since I literally cannot step over a 5-inch debris of a wall and I cannot jump over it like the old days - I have to perform the vaulting animation!

What he said. DICE have become hop-o-phobic after BF2, so don't expect to see any quick hopping/diving. There are animations for everything, they are slow and taxing (yet very fluid and feels awesome), and your gun doesn't fire as you hit the ground.

You're definitely vulnerable while coming up from prone during the animation.

No, I haven't seen any abuse of dolphin diving or bunnyhopping. Diving is still helpful as a defensive manuever when fired on from a distance, but only as a defensive manuever while you get your bearings.
