a friend of mine swears by the new m417 and pretty much iron sights all sniper rifles.. personally i like the L96 with 7x scope the best (and of course straight pull bolt) cuz it seems to give me the best versatility at both short and long range.. strangely enough i seem to no scope (hip shot) a lot as well

    whats your favorite choice?

M40 used to be, with pull bolt, 12x scope and bipod, but I don't snipe much.

Clearly; you can't use the bipod and the straight-pull bolt simultaneously.

I like to mix it up tbh, I use the 12x on the L96, and then RDS or iron sights - and maybe the torch - on the M40A5 when I feel like being a fool, or playing aggressive recon.

@AlexW00d: I'm so sorry for the mistake, like I said in the post "I don't snipe much" please stop replying to me just to make sad little attempts at trolling me, it makes you appear to be a doucher.

    Thanks in advance. :)

so when using 12x scope do you move around much or just sit on a mountain/building sniping them out?

For regular sniping I prefer the M98B with a 12x scope and straight pull bolt. For aggressive recon I use the M40A5 with the 3.4x PK-A and straight pull bolt.

I'm not really a fan of the semi-auto sniper rifles.

The only time I use a sniper rifle is to shoot camping snipers across the map, and I use the L96 vanilla.

The starting one. I think I've played with the sniper class a grand total of twice.

M40, Straight-Pull Bolt, swap between 8x and 12x scope, and laser sights for the heck of it (always hit T when starting though).

For closer encounters I use an M39 with Holographic sights, swap between foregrip and bipod (offensive/defensive respectively), and tactical light.

For small maps, QBU-88 with the 5x scope. Pretty simple set-up. On bigger maps, SV-98, 12x scope, straight pull back bolt.

I cap flags when playing sniper man. I generally play counter sniper anyway, taking out dorks up in the mountains. Or I hang around the mcoms if I'm (rarely) playing Rush.

MK 11 MOD 0 with any scope, it's perfect for rushing two shots and the guy is down.

Whatever bolt-action is unlocked, stock scope (7x?). 12x way too high power and I rather just have a good all-rounder. Mostly because there is no zoom sensitivity so constantly switching scopes just messes up muscle memory. Small map, large map, 7x works fine for me.

@sideshow: Generally I am about 150 to 300 yards away I guess, I play the role as it is meant to be played, to counter other snipers, and kill Javelin, and Stinger douchers hiding up on rocks. If I am on a smaller map I'll use the 8X scope, and help my squad move up by following behind them and picking off threats to them as quickly as I can.

It's funny because one sniper can make a huge difference, but the average one is some stupid kid who gets one kill in a match camping on a tower crane and doing shit all to help his team.

I don't use snipers lol. On my 360 I don't think I ranked the recon class up once, on PC maybe once at most.

I prefer helping my team more.

Hey, that's the only time I ever use sniper rifles as well! I usually just go with the M98 because it's big. Big rifles are typically the ones you want to use.

correct beacon placement is often key to victory.. specially on rush if you have to keep pushing and you have a spawn near the MCOM's
