In Big Top, the player is a circus clown tasked with collecting the circus master's lost top hats. Each level of the game takes place in a circus ring, and is populated with enemy clowns who attempt to stop the player from getting to the hats, which are scattered all over the level.
Big Top was developed by Michael Abrash for Funtastic. Abrash is known for writing games in assembly code that wring the last bit of performance out of the Intel processor. Big Top is no exception.
The game was released for the PC platform and supports CGA graphics.
