I forgot it even existed.
Black Knight Sword
Game » consists of 2 releases. Released Dec 11, 2012
A side-scrolling action game from Grasshopper Manufacture. The background moves behind the player to simulate movement.
This game is coming out this week
All i could think of when i saw the name was the badass Black Knight Sword from Dark Souls. I got lucky and picked it up off a black knight in darkroot basin i think. I used it about 50% of the time after Anor Londo and it just wrecked fools. I cut down pretty much every Lord Soul boss with that thing, and it was invaluable in killing Lord Gwyn. Good weapon.
Anyway, what is this game?
@Casey25: haha. I thought just as you did! Not sure what this game is, but conjuring up thoughts of Dark Souls definitely isn't a negative. ;)
You think this'll come out tomorrow on the arcade? I checked the date for release with the arcade atm, and it's not there. They usually do wednesday or sometimes friday releases for XBLA, right?

Yes, XBLA games usually come out on Wednesdays.
It's so strange, there was absolutely no information about this game for months and months since it's supposedly "accidental" announcement, and then all of a sudden it's coming out! What the hell? If this is how they usually promote games in Japan, I can see why they are having such a hard time selling games this generation.
Yeah, absolutely nobody has been talking about this since it was announced. I'll be surprised if it makes the release date, but I'm willing to try it.
I was under the impression that this game and Shadows of the Damned actually split off from an earlier cancelled project that sounded more interesting than both. This one looks neat at least. No real idea whether it's worth playing though.
Hey, is this game cool? It looks cool! Someone has to have taken the plunge and played it. Impressions please! :)
2d platformer Dark Souls but mixed with Ghouls 'N Ghosts. Hard difficulty is actually hard. Fuck the old man faced dog thing.
@Snail: now you have, and enjoy it you shall!
In all seriousness, I'm having fun with this one, I'm only up to level 2. Damn you Finals and Job!! I will say if you can memorize well, it gets a little easier.
Played the demo yesterday and decided to buy it. I like the weird style and the amount of Ketchup-like blood the enemies spray in all directions when killing them. The narrator is said to be pretty damn cool in English, but since my console is set to German I didn't like the narrator's voice at all. Guess I'll have to change the language, before continuing with this game, since the narration seems to be quite important for the whole atmosphere.
There's a lot of dumb shit in video games and it takes quite a lot for me to think something is crazy, but this game is totally nuts. What a gloriously bizarre game. It looks and sounds amazing and this is hard to explain but it shares a lot of similarities to some of the sylistic stuff in Shadows of the Damned. Not just the storybook and shooter sections, but the atmosphere...something... it just does.
Cool game thats pretty damn hard....
The cat heads.. the cat head room... WHAT. THE. FUCK!
I bought it shortly after playing the demo. I'm not too far in, well actually I'm at the start of level three (out of five total). Even on normal the game can get pretty tough. Like someone said, it does share a lot of similarities with Shadows of the Damned, atleast tonally, and even Dark Souls (the imminent threat of failure is similarly pervasive). It'd give it my recommendation for sure.
