A hardcore gamer's game
Loot. There are guns everywhere. If you are the kind of player who played Too Human to completion because you wanted all the epic armor, this game is for you. If you want to play a post-apocalyptic shooter/rpg that doesn't feel like Oblivion and doesn't use browns, grays, and blacks as 'immersion,' Borderlands is for you. The cell-shaded art style is fresh and pleasant.
The combat is initially loose, but as you get used to it it begins to feel more comfortable. Each different class is distinct and they all differ enough that multiple playthroughs do not become tedious. One should be aware, however, that there is no difficulty setting and that this game is unforgiving. Fighting outside of your level is dangerous. You will die if you get too ambitious.
This game is solid and the hard work is rewarding.
