Brütal Legend is a humorous heavy-metal, open-world, action-adventure game with light real-time strategy elements. As Eddie Riggs, lead the people of the Brütal World to rise up against the Tainted Coil demons who rule the world, and their leader, the sinister Emperor Doviculus.

Disappointed in the ending (spoilers obviously)

Was anyone else disappointed in Brutal Legends ending.  After the final battle with Ophelia, I was expecting Eddie and Ophelia to team up and fight the Tainted Coil back to Bladehenge.  Instead I got one battle with the coil and a boss fight.

Does anyone else feel that the ending could have been done differently/better?

Yes.  It felt like the last half of the story was crammed into a battle and a wimpy boss fight.  I wasn't expecting the game to end so when Doviculus lost his head I went, "wait, what?  That's it?"

I thought the game could be longer and explore the world more, but I liked the ending to the story. It could have been a lot worse, I was fully expecting the Ophelia situation to remain bad but was happily surprised.

The ending did exactly what it had to do. I imagine if it went back you would be saying it was a chore to go back and rid the land of the Tainted Coil.

The ending was fine, if not great.

The ending itself seemed fine to me, but the short leadup to it and the big RTS battle you had to endure are definitely worth criticizing.

Yeah, I thought it was leading up to a battle back at Bladehenge, too.

I still <3 this game, though.

I thought the ending was fine. The only problem is that if you decided to find all the Legend Shrines first, then the big twist about Eddie at the end was obvious so it lost some impact. Still, it did it's job.

The ending itself was fine.  I certainly was expecting that, following The Drowing Doom section, there'd be a Tainted Coil section of the game.  However, all that was apparently solved with a single battle. *shrugs*

I didn't understand the ending cinematic.  Was he coming back like he said he was, or was he leaving for good?  *confused*

@Kombat: I think his "I have to run a few errands" was his way  of saying "I'm going out into the world to get the side missions and/or collectables I missed."

There was never a legitimate stage battle against the Tainted Coil.  It was you with your stage in the same place as the final Ophelia fight, and you're fighting a big "sea of black tears" monster.  If you would drive back the tainted coil from bladehenge it would have felt like a more complete story to me, and on top of that there would have been more awesome writing.

I thought that the fight with Ophelia could've been a bit tougher, and that the final boss fight could've been done a hell of a lot better. This is stlil one of my favourite games of the year though.
