Buccaneers! is an upcoming first-person pirate game for PC, Xbox One and VR devices. The game is set in the Caribbean sea after the end of the Golden Age of Piracy, and explores a fictional timeline in which piracy recovers and becomes a major threat to the balance of power in the region. The player joins one of four factions and helps them to fight for dominance on land and at sea.
Gameplay
The player takes command of their own ship and explores the Caribbean to complete quests and naval battles. They can attack other ships and board them, with the option to add captured ships to their fleet. Enemy forts can also be attacked by sea and captured by landing troops to eliminate the garrison and seize control of the colony. Their ultimate goal is to capture colonies from the other AI-controlled factions to wipe them out, achieving total control of the Caribbean sea.
