the trailer was released a while ago, and some of the analysis stuff seems hit and miss but the guy seems to have done his research.

This isn't really an analysis of any particular Catherine trailer, but more like a compilation of all the information we have at the moment.  A few comments:
 

The restaurant where Vincent hangs out with his friends is called the Stray Sheep. 

So far, the waitress Erica, is the only side character whose name is known. 

Several things point towards Catherine taking place in a Western setting. 

as Vincent appears unarmed. 

Also, the room Vincent "dies" in doesn't appear to be his own apartment.

I knew that the Waitress would be fairly important as she's in both trailers.

I think the Vincent being dead thing is way off. They would have made it far more obvious if the game were going to be a "play the last week of this guy's life" kind of thing, played that up. That's just a random guy who died the same way Vincent would if the player screws up.

Actually, I'm pretty sure he's implying Vincent is dead at the start of Catherine. the place with the shriveled corpse(he assumes is vincent) is not the same place as the apartment we see him alive in the trailers combined with the fact that his  Jacked reads "since 2009"(again, he's assuming Catherine takes place in 2010). I doubt it, though. "

As far as I know, there have been no specific reference to students being particularly involved in the story. "
