I've been pretty interested in this game since I enjoyed Recettear quite a lot. I've managed to find a smattering of opinions and previews (some dudes at Neogaf think it's a bit meh) but nothing from the press.

How're you guys finding it so far?

This is the first time I've ever heard of it.

I saw a thread about someone being inquisitive about it being a hentai or not.

You can download a demo of it. It seems cool enough. There's loot (so far that I have seen) and a simple but kinda neat magic system. It does seem to get a little repetitive though, since you just run around all over the map trying to find every red dot and make it dead. I'm sure there's more to it, so I don't know. There's always a steam sale to send people over the edge.

I was hoping it was going to be loosely based on the South Korean film of the same name, but I was dissapointed.

The only significant downside is that you NEED a gamepad for this to reliably control the camera. On a positive note, it's one of the few games where mixing 2d sprites and 3d environments somehow doesn't look like crap (the sprites actually look pretty nice).

From what I saw from the demo and read around the internet, I would have to say that it is much simplier and more shallow than Reccetear. In Chantelise all you have to do is enter a dungeon, kill some monsters, go to the next level, kill more monsters and repeat until you find the boss. So unless you like dungeon crawling and hack & slashing, I should want to waste your money on other games.
