Im almost done with the game so I decided to start backtracking areas and dungeons to collect stuff ive missed. First place was twilight cathedral. Was going through the dungeon and got to the area where you drop down and you first find the the crossblade. I continued to collect everything until I was done. I went to go back and found I couldnt. The pedestals with the angels and swords in their hands has been raised and the ledge where I dropped down from is too high. With only my autosave and no other way up that I can see is my 25 hours that Ive put into the game now gone? 
 
Anybody got an idea or clue on how the get the hell out?

I know there's a way out, but without playing through it right now I may be vague. In the room with the angels on pedestals--I think--one of the ways out ends up leading through a hallway with lava flowing, where you have to jump over and climb over a bit, and ultimately leads to the spot where you pushed the first statue over the edge to create the hole. There's demon creep you can climb up that leads to the courtyard.
