    Overview

Detective Ryosuke Kibukawa Case Files, Tantei Kibukawa Ryosuke Jiken Tan (探偵・癸生川凌介事件譚), is a long running detective adventure series developed by Genki in the early 2000s. The stories in each game are seen through the perspective of a video game writer named Masao Ikurumi who helps a detective named Ryosuke Kibukawa and his female assistant, Izuna Sagishima, solve various cases. The conceit of the franchise is that each of the games were created by Masao Ikurumi who is recounting each case in the form of a video game he developed.

The franchise was produced, composed, and written by Takanari Ishiyama, who created 10 installments for mobile phones as well as an entry on the Nintendo DS before leaving Genki in 2005 to work at Square Enix. After that, Genki continued the series until 2012.
