    Overview

Dezaemon 2 is a 2D shoot-'em-up construction kit developed and published by Athena for the Sega Saturn exclusively in Japan on October 9, 1997.

The fourth entry in the Dezaemon series (though it is the second named installment compared to the previous entries), Dezaemon 2 includes numerous updates to its predecessor. These include the ability to make side-scrolling stages, the ability to make cutscenes, two-player support, a larger palette limit, improved music support, and the ability to take snapshots of customizable sets of flat-colored 3D polygons for use as sprites.

The game includes five sample games (two of which are hidden): Biometal Gust (a horizontal-scrolling shooter and a spiritual sequel to the developer's SNES game BioMetal), Ramsie (a vertical-scrolling shooter), Daioh P! (a port of the series's previous Daioh Gale game using the pre-rendered polygon feature), Vexsarsion (a hidden variation of Biometal Gust), and ELFiN (a hidden cutesy shooter).
