The tie? Where did it come from?

It first appeared in Donkey Kong Country. I guess it's just to make him different from the old Donkey Kong. The Kong in the old Donkey Kong game is actually Cranky Kong in the newer games. You'll notice this if you read what Cranky says in the Country series.
