Don't know if this guy gets a whole lot of love here, but I actually found him to be one of the characters that I had a particular attachment to. I always find it funny how he always gives me a short, terse respons to my questions:

Me: Tell me about the Qunari.
Sten: No.
Me: Well I wasn't expecting that.
Sten: Get used to disappointment. People aren't simple. They cannot be defined for easy reference in the manner of: 'the elves are a lithe, pointy-eared people who excel at poverty.'"

This one was pure gold too:

Sten: Interesting strategy. Do you intend to go north until it becomes south and strike the Darkspawn from the rear?
Me: (sarcastically) Oh. they'll never see it coming.
Sten: Truly, it would surprise even me if my enemy counter-attacked by retreating and running up a mountain.
Me: Look. what do you want from me?
Sten: Reason

I also liked his response when I asked about his people. Laughed out loud actually. Unexpected.

Also when he and Morrigan got to talking and she asked why he kept staring at her like she was wearing eels:

Don't remember the exact conversation, since it was a while ago, but it was when Sten challenged me for leadership of the party.

My mage proceeded to crush the puny warrior 1v1, put him in his damned place.

I can't repeat them here verbatim but he has some entertaining things to say about his peoples' religion when you speak with the dwarf who wants to start up a chantry in Ozrammar. It's a perfect representation of just how damn arrogant he is about everything.
