As a part of my new quest to discover old JRPGs I'm willing to try the Dragon Quest series for the first time. I had a go with DQ IX at a friend's and really liked it but I've read it's the least DQ-ish of them all. Any especific DS entry I should start with? IV, V or VI?

I highly recommend to start with Dragon Quest 8, if you can find it of course. It's one of the best Jrpg's of the last decade. Still, Sentinels is a good choice.

On the PS2 right? Yeah, a lot of people have recommended me that game.
