    So does any body know how much money you need to get to that key to open that chest inside the sanctuary?

    You need 5 million gold, then run up the money pile and get the key.  After that you have to empty the chamber to reveal the chest.

    @Ineedaname: I did not see that... so when you said a random legendary weapon, you really meant it. Not just using random to fill the space between words, like a lot of folks. 
     
    Opening the chest was literally the last thing I did in Fable before returning the rental. It was after I beat the game I donated all my money to the kingdom (took a while too, cause you can only do 1,000,000 at a time), then got the chest. Didn't get to use the contents at all. Just was curious. God what a strange game now that I think back on it. And I've beaten the other fable games.
