So, I'm in Barbados right now visiting some family and friends for the summer, and my friend had a "less than legal" copy of Fallout 3. He told me I should try it out, I did, and now I'm in love with the game. I plan to buy a legit copy of the game when I get back to the U.S, and my question is if the save files from this game will be playable on the legit copy I buy. I've been reading about Games for Windows Live, and they sound pretty ruthless about game saves or something. So is there a way I can play the save files I have from the "less than legit copy" on the one I plan to purchase?

As long as the save was made on the same profile.

I haven't made a GFWL account, the "less than legal" copy bipasses all of that.. or something... the saves aren't linked to an account.

You will have to make a new game most likely.

Argh! I would hate to have to play over 50+ hours of gameplay... Can't you play Fallout 3 without creating an account?

I actually plan to by the GOTY edition when it comes out. Man... I'm gonna miss that first guy I created... :(
