i bet this could go in some other forum but i am really on the fence on which version i should get. i love pc controls but i dont know if my pc could run it, so here are my specs.

Intel 3.0 ghz processor (not core 2 duo)
    3.4 gb of ram
geforce 8800 gts with 320 mbs of ram

i think i can run it, but would it be the bare minimum. i want a good playable framerate with pretty good graphics.

You might as well just get the console version if you're not sure, and don't care about mods. (Mods are what saved Oblivion).

    My PC is a 3.0ghz Pentium D

    1gb RAM

    x13000 ATI 256mb

It can play oblivion on low-medium settings with little frame rate hick ups.

So of course I'll be getting a console version. (Probably 360 for achievements).

I think the OP will be fine for PC, probably not at highest settings; namely shadows and maybe HDR settings but yeah, should look fine.
I'm still contemplating where I want to play it, on my comfy desk chair or the comfy sofa :/

I think you should be fine on high settings, maybe not absolute max as said.

Exactly if you want good graphics and smooth gameplay go with a console, you just cant trust the PC.

i am still on the fence about which version. i might have misspoken. i dont really want max settings, i would be fine with mid-range settings. see the only thing i am concerned about is controls. plus i am much more accurate with a mouse and keyboard then i ever would be with a controller. but there is VATS and ive played many a shooter on the xbox 360. heh i wish this could have been an easy decision to make.

errrr, it would run it but not well.
If you have to you should get the console versions but if not I guess it will work for you.

He has a perfectly fine PC. It'll definitely run Fallout 3 at high settings.

From what I hear, Fallout 3 isn't that demanding of a game...

Highly recommend the PC version for the mods. Level 20 limit is stupid.

You'll be fine. Go for it. My rig is lower, ~30 frames on high
