    Quirky + Charming + Emotional = Florence

Florence isn't a game in the traditional sense but it's also not a visual novel. It's something in between, some kind of unique Ludo-Narrative-Experience that couldn't work anywhere else except on mobile platforms.

In Florence, you get to live the story of a twenty-something woman as she lives her daily life until one day she falls in love. As you progress the game uses repetition to show the monotony of everyday life and how it changes and evolves with this new dynamic of being in a relationship.

It's this idea of playing with specific mechanics that make this game so enjoyable.

The game mechanics, what you have to do, is nothing special but, as it parallels Florence's relationship, it's what you experience, what you feel by having to repeat the same mechanic over and over (with a couple of very clever twists) that really makes this game unique and that after a short while is pulling on your heart-strings.

Florence isn't a game you should play because of its graphics, sound, or even story. Yes, the art style is lovely, the music is enjoyable and the story is very well delivered.

Every aspect of Florence is pretty good but what really makes this game stand out and be worthy not only of your time but also of your money (yes, Florence isn't free to play) is the impact it has on you, not only while you play it but also after you’ve finished it… that is unless you have a heart made of stone.
