Fomorous Hugues is a scholar from the Librarium of Adessa. He has dedicated his life to revivification, inventing the Well of Souls to allow the dead to be reborn. Fateweaver Agarth has predicted that Hugues will succeed, but will die shortly after the first soul is reborn. This comes to pass at the beginning of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, when the Fateless One is reborn from the Well on the same day that the Well is attacked by the Tuatha Deohn, who destroy the equipment and apparently kill Hugues.
