The Forest of Magic is a dense, dark forest, filled with trees and mushrooms. Many of the plants are magical, and the mushrooms which grow there can be used by those skilled to magic to power their spells.
Even though it is considered a scary place where few humans or youkai would want to go, it is home to some of Gensokyo's denizens, including Marisa Kirisame, Alice Margatroid, and Rinnosuke Morichika. Additionally, it houses the Kirisame Magic Shop, Marisa's store, and Kourindou, Rinnosuke's curiosity shop.
