We decided to deploy "Ake Aka NEOGEO" series on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.

Xbox One will be downloaded worldwide from December 2016, Windows10 PC from 2017 onwards.

Please expect it.

I think it's adorable when Japanese companies say something like this.

When I saw the title of this thread I forgot what Arcade Archives was for a second and thought they were bringing Game Room to Xbox One

To be fair they did just release those Atari packs with dozens of 2600 games, so that's pretty much the same as Game Room.

That thing had such amazing potential if there had been fewer bugs and better games. How many copies of Atari 2600 Golf or Intellivision Basketball do you think they sold? There must have been multiple titles that sold 0 copies.

And this is coming from someone who spent like 20 minutes playing Atari 2600 BlackJack on my PS4 a couple weekends ago. I am mystified how that game ever sold ANYTHING. I mean there are 2600 games that are still fun to play (what up, River Raid?) and others that were probably fun at the time, but some of them...

Anyway, the Neo Geo games are appealing at the right price, but I wish they would add network support for the fighting games. I feel like we're going backwards in terms of the presentation of retro games on modern consoles. In 2003 these games would have all been emulated roms on a disc for a total of $30 at retail. In 2009 they would have been XBLA games with all kinds of additions like widescreen modes and online play for $10. In 2016 they are bare bones emulated Roms for $10.

Worst of both worlds.
