I can understand liking Cobra for comedies sake but Tokyo Drift?? Why is that poster on the wall in the studio?
Tokyo Drift Poster?
Remember the Tokyo Drift HD-DVD/DVD combo shenanigans back in the day. I remember their man-crush on Paul Walker. I remember the Hotspot.
I bought it on HD-DVD 6 months ago and have watched it twice while drunk. It's really entertainingly bad, and surprisingly stylish. I can appreciate why Jeff likes it so much.
The opening housing development race scene was awesome. Monte Carlo vs Viper.
If you like cars, you can find stuff to like about the FnF movies, but the stories and characters are reproachful. Nothing interesting or endearing there.
I believe there was even a Ford RS200 in one of the scenes, keep an eye out for that one.
P.S.: They should frame a Speed Racer poster, that movie was fucking CRAAAAZY to watch.
Tokyo Drift is an outstanding example of the kind of dumb-fun exploitation movies that aren't typically made any more.
The director is actually a pretty good filmmaker as well - Better Luck Tomorrow is one of my favorite indie films.

Truth is I haven't seen it. I saw the first The Fast and The Furious, it was enough to put me off
The first two suck, but the three Justin Lin films are fun, especially Fast Five.
Yeah as a dude who grew up in the Huntington Beach high school district around Garden Grove where the asian population is huge, that movie really nailed it.Tokyo Drift is an outstanding example of the kind of dumb-fun exploitation movies that aren't typically made any more.

Plus Han being the same guy in all three movies is amazing.

I actually wrote a pretty extensive film class paper on that. Good to see someone else who appreciates that movie, I really thought it didn't get nearly the respect it deserved.
Fast Five is the only movie to make me yell out loud in excitement and high five strangers in the theater, the turning off your brain technique works.
@psylah: Dude, if you like cars you usually don't like the Fast and Furious movies. They aren't car movies. The latest one was a really fun heist movie though.
I still haven't watched Tokyo Drift, and I don't think 2Fast 2Furious is super terrible. It's watchable.

Are you kidding me? "DANGER TO MANIFOLD" was a laugh riot.
Also, I love some of the abominations it has spawned, like that 3rd gen Eclipse convertible. Who would try to race one of those?
F & F movies are fun shit.
Something many of my fellow movie enthusiasts can't seem to understand. "No deeper meaning? No hard-hitting commentary or emotional trauma? Awful movie!"
1 > 5 > 3 > 2 > 4
While we're on the subject, how the hell did that movie get named "Fast Five" and not "FA5T"? I demand my stupid titles, dammit! Trans4mers isn't going to make itself, chop chop.
