" i just hope a decent compensation is given. But yeah, well done guys. should have always been free "It shouldn't be that big. The bombcast isn't something that subs were "entitled" to. In fact, the opposite is true, everyone was promised that the site would remain the same. I'm a sub, and I feel there should be no compensation at all. I want content to remain almost completely the same, if not COMPLETELY the same. I paid to support GB and all the WM guys, not to seperate myself and be "better than" the rest of everyone else. We all love GB and Whiskey Media.
We did it!
This is totally how it should have gone down in the first place. Subscribes get something extra and shiny to lust for. Big ups to the guys listening to the community on this one. Big sites would just give the bird and say we need to learn to deal.
This news pleases me, although I wonder if their still gonna make it a new format just to freshen things up?
"Since they handled this well, and realized their poor decision, I'm going to keep subscribing anyway, even though the Bombcast was the only real reason I subscribed. Thank You, Giant Bomb! "
Except they didn't handle this well. They invented and extended the deadline as a way to save face without admitting they made a bad decision. They should have just said "Sorry guys we fucked up. We didn't expect the response would be so bad and it contradicted some earlier sentiments about us always keeping the Bombcast unchanged."
The vast majority of podcasts on the internet are free and offered to everyone - that's how they became popular - so they should have offered subscribers something new from the beginning. Splitting the Bombcast in half was an even worse solution that not only broke the format but made the prospect of trying to follow a single podcast extremely convoluted. As it is they've done some damage to the community already and tainted the Bombcast for an indefinite period of time. How long remains to be seen.
Personally I didn't really care anyway since I rarely listen to them in the first week of release.
This is awesome news. I come here for the bombcasts as i listen to it on the way to and from work as the length is perfect as I tend to get through a whole bombcast in a week of commuting so was ready to give up the bombcast as no way was I going to pay 5bucks a month for access to a podcast (there are alternatives out there) so this is great news.
Sigh of relief all around. Great news. Amazing news... phew... thank god for that :)
I hope they address this issue in the next bombcast : /
I hate it when people hate on GB - I'd hoped their hat-in-hand explanation of their decision on the whiskey podcast would be enough to stifle a lot of the backlash, but hey... Oh well - I was gonna sign up first thing anyway.
Here's hoping for an archived video version of the bombcast for subscribers!
with my beyblade beyblade baby?" We're the best around no one's ever gonna take us down "
Also thanks to all the subs who made this possible I own you all.
Awesome. I don't mind the paying members getting exclusive content as long as we commoners get nothing taken away from us.
Thanks to everybody who worked to make this happen.
UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH UH
Also,as far as i heard, its going to be more Big Live Live Show Live! goofiness :D
now i didn't take sides on this situation just waited to see what happened and all i have to say is thank you subscribers i wouldev been with you guys if i had the money to spend to get one lol
WWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
On a more serious note: I really love how the GB crew (that includes WM) honestly cares about their userbase and knows how to listen to it. They know when to take into account relevant complaints and fix their so-call "wrong doings".
This is why GB is my favorite site on the internet in any category. Thank you everyone who is involved in making GB happen.
