I only listen to the bombcast. I used to listen to the screwattack one many years ago when it was still stuttering craig and handsome tom (that place fell appart when tom left in my opinion), and ive listened to a few of the penny arcade ones. thats about it. I love...adore the bombcast, have listened to all eps multiple times, but at the same time, have zero interest in any other podcasts
What podcasts do you listen to? When did you discover podcasts?
I only listen to the bombcast, cause I barely have time for it. I discovered podcasts with the hotspot
" @Rhaknar: TOM LEFT?! damn, that sucks. i haven't been on screwattack in a long while and it sucks to hear that. i only listen to the Bombcast and Squadcast, and i don't like to listen to much, really. i don't have much interest in anything else. "tom left a LONG time ago...like 2 years or something. its really not the same anymore, but their Top 10 videos still make me laugh
" @billnyethesciencepie: No, cause I don't listen to it. What happened? My gaming podcasts: bombcast listen up (is no more, lets see what Ellis does with 4guys1up) invisible walls + marcus beer on ustream epicbattlecry (just started to listen to it last week) "oh I forgot Invisible Walls, I listen to that...or watch it, since its video. and since its video, I forgot its technically a podcast :D
" @billnyethesciencepie: No, cause I don't listen to it. What happened? My gaming podcasts: bombcast listen up (is no more, lets see what Ellis does with 4guys1up) invisible walls + marcus beer on ustream epicbattlecry (just started to listen to it last week) "Tony Grice and Marcus Beer are my favorite podcasters, Tony Grice acid sarcastic humor is awesome and Marcus bashing activision among others things that others are afraid to say
I 'discovered' podcasts when I was bored and poking around and discovered Kevin Smith's smodcast. I was addicted to that for a while. Then it kind of grew old. Still listen when if I've not much else to do, but eh.
The occasional smodcast aside, the Bombcast is the only podcast I listen too.
I wouldn't mind listening to others, but it's hard to find podcasts with people whose voices won't grate on my nerves and make me feel like punching a baby.
4guys 1up - they have great theme music. IT is the guy who does the music in fringe! CHECK IT!

true, awesome theme" 4guys 1up - they have great theme music. IT is the guy who does the music in fringe! CHECK IT!

But I hope the podcast itself gets better. Right now it lacks focus. Ellis obviously grasps on topics too much in order to fill time. In this episode they spoke for half an hour about some guest's book I had absolutely no interest in whatsoever. Also, the nasal voice of the guy they call "Scooter" makes me mad.
Bombcast once in a while... typically not the whole thing. No time for podcasts, really. I used to listen to the WallStreet Journal Daily, the Harvard Business Review, Mr. Excel, and Nintendo Voice Chat/Game Scoop. Now I don't really have the time. Bombcast is about all I'll download, then listen to while I'm at the gym.
The main reason I listen to the Bombcast, is because I like the crew so much. They remind me of myself. A real gamer. Not some faceless company's idea of a gamer or a half retarded model reading her point of views from a teleprompter.
That update currently:
The Giant Bombcast
SModcast
That either don't update anymore or suck now:
College Univercity Podcast
Eegra Octopodcast
The Hotspot
The Podcastle
Waller FM
CAGcast, bombcast, sarcastic gamer red show, joystiq podcast, xbox joystiq podcast, respawn radio, and i think thats it. im looking for a 'cast everyday of the week.
and i first discovered podcasting like early 06 i think.
I discovered podcasts 12 months ago during a procrastination period while I was doing an assignment.
My first podcast was 1up Yours - Garnett was one of the best in the business when it comes to hosting a podcast.
Along with that I found the now defunct 1upFM - Also a great podcast.
Then someone recommended Giant Bomb to me - I knew all about why it got started and such, I just never bothered to check it out.
After that they came in droves, RebelFM, The Hotspot, The Joystiq Podcast, Three Red Lights, Game Scoop, The CAGcast, A Life Well Wasted, Major Nelson and the Xbox 360 Fancast.
Podcasts are awesome - my commute would be terrible without them.
I didn't listen to any back then, but I think I first found out about them in about 2006 when I started using iTunes. As for nowadays, I listen to the Bombcast and sometimes the Daizenshuu EX podcast (I still love some Dragon Ball, what can I say).
i only listen the gaintbomb cast, and i discover it when i saw a forum on gamespot about how good the gaintbomb cast it.
The first podcast I ever listened to was the Hotspot, but I've since moved on to the Giant Bombcast. I started listening to Rebel FM because of recommendations from others, and got into Sessler's Soapbox and Feedback because I used to watch G4 a lot back when there was still a reason to.
I listen to the Bombcast regularly and I'm starting to give Rebel FM and the Hotspot a try. I got into podcasts with the Bombcast, back when it was still a blog.
Ive been a podcast fiend since I got my zune about two years ago. It gets pretty solitary during work so it helps to pass the time. Also whenever I am gaming on something I dont need to listen intently too, puzzle games and the like.
The bombcast has been my favorite, its how I found the site in the first place. Other good ones are RebelFM, The Geekbox, and A Life Well wasted.
I also listen to a bunch of non gaming podcasts like /Filmcast, TWiT, Uhh Yeah Dude, This American Life, iFanboy and the like.
The ones I like to listen to regularly:
(In order of preference)
•Joystiq Podcast
•Giant Bombcast
•1up's Podcasts (4Guys1Up, ActiveTimeBabble, Retronauts)
•The Hotspot
I also occasionally listen to CAGcast or Rebel FM if I have extra time.
I started with the Bombcast at maybe the end of 2008. Now I listen to the following regularly:
The HAWPcast [Mondays]
The Giant Bombcast [Tuesdays]
PodToid [Wednesdays]
And I've been listening to a lot of Midnight Brown recently as well, I dunno if that counts for anything. It's free, and it's occasionally about partying on the moon, so it's kinda like the Bomcast, right?
GO! GO! GO, VIETNAM!
that's what I was listening to while typing this post.
Diggnation
The Totally Rad Show
Co-op
GiantBombCast
SModcast
I used to listen to the Mobcast, Geekbox, RebelFM
And I have no choice but to listen to the Altered Confusion Podcast as I do the sound clean up for that one
on gamespot I used to watch on the spot. One episode they did one where they had cameras in the room where they recorded the hotspot and they showed that video. From that plug I started listening.
I only started really listening to podcasts since Giantbomb's first episodes, then I when out and looked for more.
Bombcast, Totally Rad Show, CO-OP, Invisible Walls, and 4 Guys 1up.
On occasion I'll listen to /filmcast and Mobcast if the show sounds good. I might stop watching CO-OP if they don't stop spending half the damn show talking about some lame ass iPhone apps.
I really wanna see what Garnett Lee and John Davison do podcast wise after leaving Listen Up. 1up Yours got me into podcasts and to be honest I still haven't found a podcast that measures up to 1up Yours in it's glory days.
The Hotspot was the first podcast that I listened to, and it was what got me into the whole podcasting craze. I initially just listened to it through Gamespot.com, but when I got a new iPod, I just subscribed to it on iTunes (along with other podcasts).
I listen/watch a crapton of podcasts now -- around 30 subcriptions on iTunes. My favorite ones are:
- Giant Bomb
- 4 Guys, 1up
- Gamescoop/Beyond/Three Red Lights
- G4TV Feedback
- Mobcast
- A Life Well Wasted -- Probably the best gaming-focused podcast currently produced. Unfortunately, Robert Ashley usually only does monthly episodes and hasn't done an episode since August.
- Out of the Game
- The Geekbox
- Diggnation
- Totally Rad Show
I could see listening to them if I had a portable device to listen to them on -- but don't have much interest listening to them at my pc.
As far as I can remember the HotSpot was the first podcast I listened to back in the day.
Nowadays I listen to a lot of podcasts, I always have a podcast on when I go to sleep and I have a really hard time falling asleep when it's quiet.
I listen to the following podcasts (I might omit some since this is from memory):
- Bombcast
- CAG Cast
- Joystiq Podcast
- GayGamer Podcast
- Weekly Geek Podcast
- 4 Guys 1 Up
- Active Time Babble
- at 1Up Podcast
- Retronauts
- 1 Up Oddcast
- Game Scoop! Podcast
- Podcast Beyond
- Command Prompt
- Nintendo Voice Chat
- PC Gamer Podcast
- Engadget Podcast
Started getting into podcasts this March when I got my depressingly boring office job. Bombcast's the only one I listen to with any regularity, but I also subscribe to
Podtoid
Rebel FM
Retronauts
Listen UP!/4 Guys 1 Up
Outlandish (WoW podcast. I'm very off and on with that stupid game, but I love these guys.)
Joystiq Podcast
i listen to the bombcast like most here. i got into pod casts around a year ago so im a late listener. i sometimes listen to the game informer podcast kind of boring there are no inside jokes and stuff that they do here, and a few other NPR shows like wait wait my mom got me listening to this one when i visited home one day.
Geekbox
Idlethumbs (Though I guess not anymore, as they finished for now)
Bombcast
A decent chunk of some IGN podcasts
A Life Well Wasted
Out of the Game
Rebel FM
Bungie Podcast
Retronauts
4 Guys 1up.
IGN's "Gamescoop!" podcast was the first one I listened to about 2 (2.5?) years ago.
I first got into podcasts through a blog called sarcastic gamer . There short but sweet podcasts made me laugh and i searched fro others . I mean i had listened to the gamespot hotspot podcast before it . But the way they structured the podcast really appealed to me . Anyone else listen to sarcastic gamer . Lono is back :)
