DOOM - Main Theme

This main theme includes several hints to previous classic Doom themes. The dynamic track, arranged here for the multiplayer main menu, represents the brutal, ever-changing gameplay in Doom 2016. We move through tension, focus, spurts of graphic violence, madness and horror.

This is the first time this theme has appeared anywhere - enjoy!

For those who don't know, Gordon composed the music for Killer Instinct's first two seasons, which is top-to-bottom incredible stuff. This Doom theme sounds great and has me super psyched for the rest of the score.

Mick always nails exactly what he describes his songs as representing. Sounds brutal, dark, filthy and grimy. I love it.

Can't wait to play this thing, man. I kind of just want to blow through Uncharted to get to this that week (and I really want to play Uncharted).

They streamed a tournament today and the multiplayer looks super fun. Hoping the campaign nails it, but since the game already feels this good I'm optimistic.

I was honestly expecting the umpteenth generic metal cover of E1M1's music. Glad they didn't go the easy route.

I refuse to get my hopes up for this... They sure nailed that opening music though.

Genuinely bummed that this will probably be the only good thing about the game.

Mick Gordon did a fan-fucking-tastic job on KI and seems to be doing more fantastic work here. Even though I'm a bit ho-hum on what they've shown of the new Doom I certainly have the music to look forward to.

Maaaaaann this is good stuff. I'm pumped for the beta this weekend!

Gordon is the most.. "Video-gamey" Video game composer active. His music probably requires massive amounts of effort and training but its the kind of music that was playing in my head at 15 playing Doom on PS1

It's okay, but it's not really a fun, rippin' tune like this.

Mick Gordon may be the best guy working in video game music right now, at least for new games in existing game worlds. The way he creates fresh takes while still incorporating bits from the original is always amazing. I bought both S1 and S2 KI soundtracks his work was so good.

@dudeglove: I wouldn't mind seeing some new age grunge but each time a new pop song comes out and it's this imitation 80's keyboards all over the place I die a little inside.

Sounds alright, there are some mild hints of the Doom II theme in there, but I'm getting more of a Quake II than a Doom vibe in general, I guess. Still, generally invokes the right era at least.

A strong contender for OST of the year for sure.
