Retro Studios will be at the E3 according to their tweet:

Given that they are the guys behind the Metroid Prime quadrilogy, the last three Donkey Kong games, and Super Mario Kart 7, what announcement are you hoping for?

Wouldn't mind another Donkey Kong Country game, Tropical Freeze was not the greatest in the world but I still enjoyed it. Metroid Prime doh, that would be glorious.

Fuck it , I dunno. This time the villains are mole people. Because whatever, everybody who was at Retro who had ambitions of working on something more original than a DKC game has already left to work somewhere else.

I'd buy a Wii U immediately if it was Metroid. It won't be.

I would love a 2D Metroid for 3DS... actually I would like anything for 3DS. I think it's super unlikely that Retro would do that though.

I would like to see something new and original.

I'd be down for a new take on Metroid or something else new from them. They've done two good DK games, time to move on.

This lines up with the old Kevin Callahan leak that said Retro and Monster were collaborating on Diddy Kong Racing 2. That's my thought as to what they're getting at. It has only been just over a year since DKCTF, not enough time to get DKC Baja Blast together.

Edit: Also worth noting Nintendo just reupped their trademark of Diddy Kong in Europe. What else could that mean other than DKR reappearing?

That'd be cool, I didn't like the first one but would be down for giving a new one a shot.

If it's not a new Metroid game, I will be severely disappointed...until I finish watching the trailer for whatever they're actually working on because it'll probably be another good game.

I hope it's nothing Donkey Kong related. Those two new DKC games seemed pretty good, well I played the second one and it was pretty good, but I'd also love to see them put that amount of craftmanship into either a new, bigger and betterish, Metroid Prime-ish game. Or, if that would be beyond them, into something completely new.

I've forgotten what exactly was the situation with some leaderfolks leaving Retro and starting Armature, but I'm curious if those guys will ever have a major project of their own. The most I've ever seen of them was being attached to that cancelled Primelike Mega Man game, and they are handling the WiiU and Vita ports of Bloodstained.

I kind of want Retro Studios to make a Booker T game after reading that tweet. But I do look forward to see what they're gonna show off.

2D Metroid. Just do it already, with Tropical Freeze they showed that a big budget 2D game can still amaze.

OK, so this was all complete bullshit, right? I didn't watch all of the Nintendo E3 Treehouse streams and whatever, but Retro Studios didn't feature anything of note, right?

So who is making that terrible looking Metroid Prime: Federation Force game?

-They confirmed no other Metroids were in development.

-Iwata stared into a banana again

-Last time Iwata did that was a year before the reveal of Tropical Freeze.

Guys get hype. Retro is closing out their DKC Trilogy!

(Don't listen to naysayers. They thought DKCR was all Retro would do. They were ridiculously wrong. They have a bad track record.)
