8800+ Members in less than 24 hours

What are your predictions for the rest of the week?  For the rest of the month?

I think we'll see 30,000 registrations at the 7 day mark, and maybe 60,000 or 70,000 at the 30 day mark.  I'm just guessing, of course.  8800 is a lot though, especially with all of the growing pains the site is experiencing right now.

isn't that just members that have had content approved? I think its higher.

Nope, I think that's registrations.  I'm 6650 of 8800 something.  I doubt the number of approved submissions is anywhere near that high at this point.

well I am pretty sure the numbers are actually a little more...it can take some time for the website to process everything.

That's a lot you know - but a lot of us are from a specific place... GS. So once the migration dies down, so may the traffic unless viral marketing is started.

I don't really know how high the member count will get, but I do know that I was one of the first 800 members.

Good to see the bomb explode like this.  Given the content they've provided before the launch, I was really hoping a huge community would form around them.

i wouldn't be too optimistic about the projected growth of the site. This will peak soon. Obviously more and more people will arive, but not in such huge numbers.

Its over 9000 right now, i think we will have over 30k by th end of the week.

Thats really crazy, but really good.  I am glad that Jeff and his team have been able to make such a successful website in such little time.
