These are my current cabinets...

No Caption Provided
Atomiswave Jamma cab, mostly houses Neo Geo stuff but since my MVS motherboard has died, I have Progear and Street Fighter Zero 2 on rotation.

No Caption Provided
My first cab, Sega Universal Cabinet.  Mostly has Gigawing 2, Project Justice or Capcom Vs SNK in it.

Previous machines include a dedicated Killer Instinct 2 Midway cab, a Jaleco Pony MK2 Jamma and an Electrocoin Neo Geo MVS cab which I looked after for a year for a friend.   I'd love a Pinball or two and a dedicated driver but I'm pushing my luck with these two in my current place.

What have you got?

@EVILfunkster: I love how that second one is right next to your bed (or somebody's bed).

Yeah, my fiancée didn't like the thought of having them both in the lounge so I had to tuck one away in the corner of the bedroom, it's kind of my bedside table now.

I'm constantly rotating stuff between my game room and garage, but I'll show a few pics of how it's looked recently.

Semi-current pinball lineup. I have another 10 pins or so, but I rotate them to keep the lineup feeling fresh. I'll be moving The Simpsons Pinball Party down to go alongside the Spider-Man later this weekend.

Close look at my MAME that I built. Has a 27" screen, trackball, spinner, 4-way stick, and two Happs Perfect 360 joysticks. I wired the LEDs myself, but you can but illuminated buttons now.

Just a few random pics from the arcade room.  I've played with the lighting a bit, that's why it varies in some pics. Lately I've kept it mostly blue inside.

A couple of restoration pics on my Punch-Out!!. I need to take a final "after" shot now that I've replaced the sideart, installed new glass, rebuilt the base, re-capped the monitors, installed new t-molding, and put the thing all back together.

I have literally hundreds of photos of other machines, both pinball and arcade. It's a crazy addictive hobby to buy and restore these things.

@lead_farmer: The Metal Slug cabinet is actually a 4-slot Neo Geo candy cabinet. I'm going to upgrade it to a larger cab soon, but I've really liked this model of candy cab. A local seller has one of these that I'm going to get. I just need to shuffle stuff around first.

@GideonAmos: I added it up once and it made me cry a bit inside. I actually posted the rough total in a thread here, I'll find it and post it later.

Also, to the OP, that Atomiswave cab is downright gorgeous.

Totally. Stack up a Taitio Type X2 next to that puppy, and it'll be a Goddamn work of art.

Best places to buy, in order of preference for me are:

  1. Local classifieds. We have a killer one here on KSL.com (right now a Street Fighter: Champion Edition is listed, actually along with some great classics)
  2. Craigslist, but always ask for pics before heading out if the drive is longer than a few miles
  3. Word of mouth through other collectors
  4. Forums/Newsgroups and post a want to buy thread with your location and budget. Here's an awesome one:  http://forums.arcade-museum.com/
  5. eBay

I use eBay as a last resort option for something because pictures can be somewhat misleading. If you can't inspect it personally before committing to buy, it's a brave move to buy a machine. You can use eBay to search within a certain radius from your zip code, however. That's great if the seller will let you come see the machine before bidding.

What area are you located in? I could probably find you a machine without too much effort.

@NekuSakuraba: I know of a few Aussies that collect, but many of them resort to building MAME cabinets if they can't find what they're looking for. Shipping a game down to Australia is really cost prohibitive, but there should be some floating around if you look around a bit, especially for some of the popular titles of the past.

@StupidGamer: Wow, that's a very nice looking game room, those cabinets and pins look awesome! Are those LED's I spot in your LOTR and Spiderman pins? I own a LOTR, Twilight Zone, Star Trek TNG and F14 Tomcat, I was thinking of adding LED's to a few of them.

Oh, I've been looking at buying either Simpsons Pinball Party or Spiderman for my next pin, which one would you recommend? I like games with deep rule sets and I heard that Simpsons is the deepest (keep hearing more then LOTR which scares me, haha), yet I also enjoy the speed and flow of Steve Ritchie games, so Spiderman is tempting as well.

Thanks!
