I heard somewhere that the game of the year edition of Batman: Arkham Asylum has a completely different set of achievements than the regular version.  Does anybody know if this is true?

I don't think they are that different, but yes it is another set. You can get both.

Apparently you can get 5000 points from the different versions of Batman Arkham Asylum.

@The_A_Drain: But can I get both with only the GOTY edition or do I need the regular version too?

@ErgoProxy77:

Why would you think you could do both with the GOTY edition? It's one game...

Yes. You need each different edition of the game.

@The_A_Drain: Why not think that?  GOTY editions usually include everything the original had, plus some other content.

Well the fact that it has a 3D mode makes it pretty obvious that they had to do some major reprogramming rather than just slapping the DLC on the disk.

Does the GOTY edition come with a batarang?  I'd like to have one to experiment with while getting an extra set of chievos.

@ErgoProxy77:  Microsoft only allow 1000 points per game. That's why. Different editions = different games.

Most of the achievements are the same anyway.

@The_A_Drain: Yes, but the Fallout 3 GOTY does not count as a different game from the regular version.

Just go here, jeese. Google is your friend.

The Fallout 3 GOTY is the same game, they just bundled the DLC onto the disc as well. That's why, the game was unchanged.

@The_A_Drain: Arkham Asylum is unchanged as well, it just has 3D, which you can turn off.  I already tried Google, only found articles that talked about the 3D.
