Best Soundtrack of the Generation - Round 1, Group 3

I might be the only one to vote for Resonance of Fate, but goddamn if that soundtrack doesn't rock the fuck out.

This is a legitimately hard choice, but in the end, I'm going with Eternal Sonata. For a game all about a man and his music, its soundtrack is excellent.

Fuck, ok guys, don't vote for Far Cry 3 here. Dammit I knew I entered Far Cry 3 twice and still failed to delete one of them. Either way, I'll say that if it reaches the top 3 in one, it won't count in the other.

Oof, it's a pretty tough choice between Mass Effect, Yakuza 3, and Shattered Memories for me... Vigil's theme alone is pretty damn iconic, and then there's Virmire theme, and Faunt's M4 Part II. Shattered Memories is really good too, but I don't think it's necessarily Silent Hill's strongest... Acceptance is one helluva track, though.

Yakuza 3 is just really fun to listen to. A lot of great high energy tracks in there, with some outstanding boss themes, like Majima's 'Receive and Stab You'... Jeez, I just don't know! Yakuza 3 shares a lot of qualities with MGRising's, though, and I've already given that the vote in the other thread, so I think I could cut this between Mass Effect and Shattered Memories.

I hate to be a fanboy bus Halo has my favorite soundtracks and Halo Reach is my favorite Halo soundtrack yet so I had to vote for it here, its tone was so somber and heavy, really hit home the feel of the world of Reach in its final days.

Strangely enough, I picked Halo: Reach. I was sort of tired of the bombastic approach by the end of 3. And Reach really sold me on its atmosphere and emotion because of its phenomenal soundtrack.

But if Mass Effect wins this group, that's cool, too.

I realize I nominated Motorstorm so I kind of have to vote for it but I almost voted Valkyria Chronicles anyway. In the end I did vote Motorstorm because that game is almost nothing without it's music, like it's sequel for example.

I suspected I might've been the only vote for Neotokyo. Man, was that an incredible soundtrack for a HL mod I can't imagine a lot of people actually played.

I voted for Starhawk but Rocketbirds is also really fucking good. I bet most of you have never even heard either of them :(

I picked Brutal Legend because I felt like no one else would, it deserves some recognition.

The splice soundtrack is wonderful.

Final Fantasy XIII was pretty rough in many areas, but its soundtrack was actually good.

I think I liked 13s soundtrack the first time I heard it, but it got so repetitive to me in game that I can't stand it separately anymore. One of the only FF soundtracks I don't have on my ipod.
