How will Giant Bomb get its money?

In a few weeks are we going to see adverts everywhere? Because so far, the websites great, but we are going to have to pay for it somehow...

There's a link to inquire about advertising at the bottom of every pages, so I would think that will be the case, yes

Advertising... Or chosen Subscriptions.

I was wondering about this.  How can the Giant Bomb staff afford to do this full-time?  It had me thinking that there is some money behind this from some corporate entity we don't know about.

Comic Vine doesn't have ads on at the moment either.

I would happily pay for a subscription.

If the content was good I would pay for a subscription aswell.

Well, I know they got a good amount of start up money from someone. Like everyone else said, advertisements'll probably be seen sooner or later, although I would gladly subscribe to the site.

That, or they'll sell our email adresses to someone.

Somehow the guys are being paid by 'Whiskey Media' (link at the bottom left corner) - They'll get pay more when the ad's role in, and for the record, i have no problems with advertisement.

Gotta make a living doin what ya love and it can't be free that's for damn sure. Of course they are going to have ads. With the traffic they're getting they'd be stupid not to. Now whether or not it'll be ads for video games is the tricky part.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how things evolve. So far, Comicvine seems to be very ad-free.
I'd hate to see this great interface be blotted by some annoying ads just to keep things running.

The Bomb shelter (GiantBomb HQ) is built over a huge sea of oil, they sell the oil and make their money.

But yeah, like everyone else said mainly to ads that will most likely be here once the full site launches.

I don't think ads for video games would be a problem, too... because jeff and the crew don't have to worry about being fired by soem higher power...
they ARE the power, and they make the decisions... if they want to give a game a bad score, then they can do so, without ads affecting what that score is...

Ads would be the first thing that springs to mind.

Probably through advertising, there might be subscriptions. We'll find out soon.

I'd happily pay a subscription for hd-videos and stuff like that.
