If you like the Endurance Runs, why not watch some Let's Plays?

I know many of you are itching  for new Endurance Runs to be done all the time, guess what, they are. The Endurance Runs are just another name for a Let's Play, aka people playing through games on video. I KNOW it is about the staff doing it, but if you just want to see people play and talk many are out there. I enjoy watching them a whole lot for some strange reason, I seem to enjoy it even though I am not playing the game myself. I am here to give you guys a list of some good LPers that you can watch to help subdue you ER cravings.

Helloween4545 has been the greatest LPer I encountered so far.
 
I like how he talks to the game and call enemies, "Mr. Satan" or whatever.
 
And his rage moments are plain gold.

Endurance Runs are Jeff and Vinny playing through a game while bouncing thoughts off each other.
 
None of the Let's Play people have anywhere near the personality Jeff and Vinny have.

youtube LPers are the worst LPers.
 

Good reminder as to where ER's came from.  This is Giant Bomb though dude, and the fans of ER usually just want to see the staff play games and hear their reactions, and not the reactions and opinions of strangers unfortunately.  
 
I did watch some ProtonJonSA stuff before, and thought it was fun seeing the Mario Rom Hacks and how twisted they can get.  I beat Kaizo Mario just to see how insane it was after seeing one of the levels the first time.

I feel that Let's Plays are fun for a bit, but after a while they all start to get boring. It's just a lot more fun to experience the game for yourself (obviously), and watching people play old games doesn't stay interesting for very long.

The Resident Evil 5 (co-op with two person commentary), Moonbase Alpha, I'm Not Alone and Metro 2033 LPs have been the most popular.
 
There are playlists for 'em.
 
Oh and they're edited down to get rid of the boring stuff, so an 8 hour game is around 4 hours of video. I think it makes them much easier to watch.

ER does something that LPs normally don't do well.  ER has two dudes that provide funny commentary of the game's mechanics and story. The ERs have also featured games where the players have no prior experience.    
 
LPs usually have only one person.  They also tend to treat it more of a walkthrough if they have played it before.  With blind runs, the commentary is also pretty hit or miss depending on the LPer.   
 
Not hating on LPs, in fact I subscribe to a couple on YT. The problem is they cater to different audiences. I also have yet to see an LP with 2 guys that matches the same quality as the ERs.

I'm going to go ahead a pimp out a fellow GB user. Kowbrainz has a few good Lets Play including Luigi's Mansion and a Persona 3 FES I believe he is still working on.

As much time as it would take to watch all this, I would never play video games. Giant Bomb takes away enough of my game time as it is. It's nice to see though, I use them as Quick Looks... if you will. Thanks for posting. Bookmarked for future reference.

http://lparchive.org/LetsPlay/Sonic2006/ Sonic 2006. Done in a marathon session over 24 hours. The group have a good chemistry and the game throws out plenty of shit to mock.  They've done plenty of other games, including a few Kirby games and God Hand.

There are also a bunch by ChipCheezum which are all worth a look.  

Someone already mentioned the Freelance Astronauts and Diabetus. Those guys are also very good. The FA's run of TooT: MasterQuest is probably the most similar to the Endurance Run after their NSMBW run.

I'd probably watch LPs of interesting games I wouldn't want to play if my time wasn't so limited. But, a big part of the reason I like the Endurance Runs is the same reason I like Bombcast: I like listening to the editors.

There's some good Let's Plays, and some not so much. 
 
I prefer the ones with voice commentary, as opposed to subtitles (though Dead Space was pretty funny) and there just aren't many done that well.  I did sit through the entire Uncharted 1 Let's Play and really really enjoyed it though.

I've only seen Chuggaaconroy and Darksydephil, both of which are hilarious. 

The only Let's Play I've watched so far is Hamst3r running through Amnesia: The Dark Descent. While it's really entertaining, especially considering it's him solo commentating, it hasn't held the appeal that the ERs did.

I enjoy Hamst3r's LPs. I've also been spoiled on retsupurae, so I can't take any real LP's seriously anymore, aside from the one I mentioned.

I only ever really watch Slowbeef's videos and that's mainly because he always has at least one guest and him and Diabetus are hilarious at times.

The only good youtube letsplays are good because retsuprae is tearing them apart. All youtube lps suck but thankfully someone has already posted the archive. If you are looking for good lps go to the archive, if you want funny people tearing apart bad lps then look for retsuprae on youtube.

I watched some British bloke play through Re:armed and Bionic Commando, that was pretty entertaining. Most of the time though it's just a waste of time that I could be spending actually playing games, so I'd rather not get into it.
